The cost of the Vinyl flooring may vary based on the quality you choose. Commonly there are two types of vinyl floorings which are used: printed and inlaid. The printed vinyl flooring is coated with vinyl and is cheap, but is not too durable, whereas, the inlaid vinyl floorings have patterns and color deeply embossed into the flooring and can be very expensive at times.
Superior quality always has more advantage over others and is more durable. If you are willing to save some money, you can even consider installing the flooring yourself. The high end vinyl is thicker in comparison to everyday used vinyl floorings and has a durable coating on their surfaces, also referred to as “wear layer”. Urethane wear layer or "enhanced" urethane wear layer is recommended. This has a great lifetime and a better resistance to handle footsteps over them. The commercial vinyl flooring available does not give you much choice but certainly lasts longer than other similar floorings.
You can apply vinyl flooring to a number of surfaces like concrete floors, plywood sub-floors, or even wooden or linoleum floors. Always make sure that the surface on which the flooring is being applied is smooth and flat, as seams, bumps and nail heads will become visible with time, over the surface.
