There are a number of laminated flooring materials which resemble the natural looks of tiles, stones and wood. Unless you scrutinize them closely, or have a look at the joints, it’s quite difficult to make out whether they are real or laminated impersonations. Till then, you can’t even make out that the flooring is in reality a fiberboard, melamine or aluminum oxide composite.

Resilient flooring is a vast subject. Flooring materials like linoleum, polyurethane, cork, asphalt and rubber are all different composites which can be classified in this category. But so far, it has been noticed that vinyl is the commonly used material in resilient flooring.

Most people feel that the linoleum floorings are the same as the Vinyl floors or vice versa, it is not so, as they are different materials. The vinyl flooring is produced from polyvinyl chloride, which is a plastic originating from oil, whereas linoleum floorings are produced from layers of jute, which comprise of wood fiber, powdered limestone, plant resins and linseed oil.

Basically of European origin, the laminated flooring is eventually being recognized in the United States and a lot of people have started choosing it over other types of flooring. These floorings resemble the looks of tiles, stones and conventional wooden floors.
