Usage of heating pumps in the houses is not a new wonder. They have been in use for over 30 years. The popularity of the heating systems is rising day by day because of the numerous benefits it offers. In comparison to the traditional cooling and heating systems, the heating pumps are more cost effective, work on a higher technology and are less noisy.  Also the old systems are not as effective in providing sufficient warmth or coolness, as is required and suffered frequent breakdowns.

The advances in technology have provided a new system which is more energy efficient and reliable. When on the heating mode, they save a lot in terms of energy. The air-sourced heat pumps face a problem when there is a high fall in outside temperatures. They consume a lot of energy when they cross the “balance point”, which is a level of temperature till efficient working of the system. It is normally from 30 to 45 degrees F. Below these temperatures the heating system consume additional energy to form heat.


Is a heat pump really required?

In the long haul, a new heating pump may prove to be cost effective, but do you need to replace the heating pump or the furnace?

Why do you need a new heating system? Is it because it’s too noisy or is it not functioning properly? The simple reason may be that your heating system may need some minor repair. In case you are planning to replace your old heating system with a new one because of the problems you are facing in it, go through the list of common problems and their remedies. It might just save you from spending unnecessarily.
