In the past few years, drip irrigation was introduced as an alternative to the old system. Unlike the old system, it has an above the tubing. Both these systems have their own advantages

These systems are not obstructions amongst each other if you want to use both of them in your house. Converting the old sprinklers or a part of it to drip irrigation system can also be considered.

Any system that you use, you will have to group the plants with the same water requirements, however, you can water them via different irrigation systems, letting you customize the water distribution based on the plant’s needs.

Depending on your area of residence and the climatic conditions, you can also consider using a portable sprinkler and attach it to a hose with a manual timer and a control valve. Some regions experience heavy rainfalls, and in such area installing irrigation systems is not suggested

Sprinkler System

If your house has a big lawn area or open grounds, you may choose to install the underground sprinkler system.

This system is also suited for irrigating vegetable or flower beds, but you should ensure that you have a multi-circuit system to keep a check on the area separately.

Since this kind of system is underground and not visible, they present an attractive look to the garden. Also these do not require a lot of maintenance, as the sprinkler heads make their own place with the ground with time, and as they are buried inside the ground, they do not attract a lot of damage.

In the past, the sprinklers were considered to be wasting water, but with development and renovations, the upgraded sprinklers are more efficient in distributing water.

The sprinkler systems may sound attractive, but you will have to plan properly, as they would need proper pressure and flow. Also, their installation would require the place to be dug throughout the beautiful garden.
