Summary: There are a number of plumbing systems in a house.

The water supply pipes distribute it to the appliances and fittings, which also include the garden hoses and sprinklers.

The used and the waste water is disposed through the drains and the pipes designed for this purpose.

The required pressure for the drainage pipes is provided by the vent pipes, which also do away with the gasses in the sewer.

For gas related appliances, there are pipes attached to transport gases between them.

In some houses which have a swimming pool, there are different pipe systems which serve the needs. Similarly there are separate built in vacuum pipes for this need. In the following section, we will have a look at the different systems of plumbing and various fittings in a house.
