Installing Window Boxes

QUESTION: Is there any special way to install a garden box or window box? Should the installation of flashing be over the limestone sill? Should there be other flashing around other parts of the window?

Answer: The window boxes install according to how it is designed. Some window boxes permit the window boxes to suspend from special stainless-steel clips. Some others simply are rested on to the platforms. I will opt for fiberglass window box which uses the special stainless-steel clips.

If the window box is kept away from the side of the house slightly, you do not require flashing. Instead if you had installed window box against the side of your house to make sure that air do not enter between the side wall of the house and the box, then you are likely to have water problems
