The AAMA Certification Label on the vinyl windows informs the customer that the products have been inspected for conformity with the requirements set by ANSI/AAMA/NWWDA 101/I.S.2 standard through independent lab testings and on-site inspection of product line from the manufacturer.

After certification is issued, AAMA carries out surprise inspections of these window factories. Windows are randomly chosen from the assembly line and taken for testing to their labs. The manufacturer loses their certification if the windows fails to clear the tests.

All certified manufacturers of vinyl windows are listed in the AAMA web site. They are constantly updated. The process of certification is a continuous process and severe. The windows are randomly taken off the assembly line. They are then shipped off to independent third party labs. The guidelines published by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and AAMA are the latest guidelines. New manufacturers are certified and included in the listings every month.
